The flavor born with love
In 2020, amidst difficult times and unexpected changes, an idea full of flavor, tradition, and a lot of heart was born: Empanadas el Costeño. From day one, our goal has been clear: to bring the authentic taste of Colombian empanadas to every table, made with fresh ingredients, homemade recipes, and that touch of love only found in soulful cooking.
Inspired by our roots and the desire to share a little piece of Colombia in every bite, we began making empanadas just like the ones you eat at home: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and with that coastal seasoning that transports you to the Caribbean just by tasting them.
Every empanada that leaves our kitchen carries with it a story, a tradition, and the dream of continuing to grow without losing what makes us unique: the authenticity, flavor, and love with which it all began.

The history of Empanadas El Costeño – by Ramón Castellanos
I’m 38 years old and the creator of Empanadas El Costeño. I was born with the coastal flavor in my veins and an immense passion for authentic Colombian cuisine. Since I was a child, I loved watching my family prepare those dishes full of tradition, flavor, and love. Every empanada I make today carries a little piece of that history.
Like many, I immigrated to the United States in search of new opportunities, but I never left my culture or my dreams behind. I wanted people here to also taste what’s ours, what unites us, what brings joy to our souls. Thus, Empanadas El Costeño was born, with the goal of bringing a piece of Colombia to every bite.
